The Fines Unit will no longer be sending cheques

The use of cheques is being phased out by the Commonwealth Government, and the Fines Unit will cease issuing cheques from 31 October 2025. All payments will now be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT). If you have been awarded an amount by the court (or have received a previous payment from the Fines Unit) you should ensure your bank account details and email address are up to date with us. Get in touch to provide your details so that when payment is received it can be transferred to your bank account promptly.

If you are concerned about your alcohol or other drug use, there are treatment services available.

There are a range of treatment services available in South Australia for people who experience problems with alcohol and other drugs, which means there are many options for people with differing needs and treatment preferences. Many of these services are free.

These service providers may be able to assist you to manage your fines.
